A Word from Our Founder
Our Founder & Managing Director, Chris Burley, shares his thoughts on this remarkable journey:

Although I started the business over 14 years ago, the incorporation of Creative Building Projects and its subsequent growth have truly flourished over the past decade. Our portfolio showcases our ability to deliver high-profile projects for esteemed clients with the highest standards.”

Reflecting on his personal journey, Chris adds:
“I began my career as an apprentice joiner in 2006 for my father’s small family business, MDB Building Services, just as my father Mick Burley did as an apprentice bricklayer for his father’s small family business, MR Burley Construction. Construction is firmly in my DNA, as it is for my brothers, Ben and Joe, who are also part of the business.”
Building a Legacy
Chris’s journey from apprentice to Managing Director is a testament to his dedication and vision:
“I left my father’s business shortly after completing my apprenticeship in 2008 to gain different experiences working on hotel and bar refurbishments. In 2010, I started Creative Building Projects as a sole trader, incorporating the business in 2014. My goal was always to be the best construction contractor, and now, we work with some of the most highly regarded clients in Sheffield and run a multi-million-pound company. This is not just testament to me but to a strong and valuable team that we have developed over the years, now consisting of an Estimating team, Project Management team, Office Manager, Accounts team and in 2022 the addition of a Director – Jack Trow.”
He continues:
“Our approach focuses on delivering the best service and experience for our clients. We invest in our staff to ensure a great work-life balance and a positive work environment. We’ve built a sustainable and resilient business that can weather any challenge, and we are committed to maintaining a team with the right mentality, honesty, and integrity.”

To commemorate their 10th anniversary, Creative Building Projects undertook a comprehensive fit-out of their new office space. Chris concludes:
“I’m delighted with our new office. It has transformed our workspace into a more productive and collaborative environment. Investing in our own surroundings has positively impacted our business. It was rewarding to work on a project for our own company and to lead by example in how we approach projects for our customers.”
