This project was for a charity organisation called autism east midlands (AEM), we were put forward for tender by a QS which has worked closely with AEM in the past who thought we would be suitable. This project carried out by CBP consisted of conversion and renovation of two separate buildings opposite each other from a school for young autistic children to accommodation for autistic independent adults which could need help from time to time and would need a competent AEM staff member present on site 24/7.

The two buildings were donated and have been owed by the charity since the charity begun and have an emotional and sentimental attachment to AEM. Although the project had a handsome amount of funds budgeted and allocated for the conversion and renovation it was very tight and CBP were highly involved in helping put logical money saving methods and ideas forward to ensure the project was on budget and not compromised functionally and visually. This was achieved and delivered to a high standard on time. CBP researched the nature of autism to get a good understanding of needs tenants may have so when considering ideas design and finishes it was tailored to the individual.
